BandLab Cakewalk Sonar is a full-blown digital audio workstation (DAW) that delivers an all-new generation of the famed Cakewalk Sonar product. With the rebranding and relaunch of the DAW, it was made available as a free download after Singapore-based company BandLab Technologies purchased Cakewalk in 2018, allowing music producers access to professional-level tools and many virtual instruments.
BandLab Cakewalk Sonar was the first software to use 64-bit architecture for audio engineering, giving musicians, producers, and composers a powerful platform to record, edit, mix, and master audio and MIDI tracks. It serves as the successor to a product that moved to include features like unlimited track counts, VST3 support, a 64-bit mix engine, touch integration, and a lot more.
